ARTICHOKESWhat image comes to mind at the word "artichoke"? Expensive jars of a marinated vegetable? Tubers like knobby potatoes? The sensuous delight of dipping succulent leaf-like scales into melted butter and scraping thick flesh away with your teeth?As a gardener, do you see a maze of monster weeds with edible roots, a bed of ornamental thistles, a deceptively demure cushion of mint-like foliage?
